The amount of the deposit is 20% of the cost of the stay and this amount will be deducted from your final account. The deposit is payable by credit or debit card or cheque to ‘The Whitehall Hotel’. Please do not send cash.
Insurance
We strongly recommend that you take out insurance to protect you in the event of unforeseen cancellation. We enclose details of insurance which may be appropriate. It provides protection for deposit and cancellation charges in advance of the holiday and also covers you for the holiday period for medical, emergency, personal accident and also for loss of personal property. This insurance is also available for groups. Please contact us for further details.
Cancellation Fee
You may cancel your holiday at any time. However a cancellation charge will apply as follows:
| Cancellation notice before arrival date | Amount of cancellation charge |

| 27 days -14 days | 50% |
| 13 days - 3 days | 75% |
| 2 days or less | 100% |
Cancellation charges also apply where a cancellation results in under occupancy of a room (e.g. one person in a twin room).
Balance Due
Accounts usually become due on departure. For some special events for example for major political conferences and for our Christmas and New Year packages we may request full payment in advance of the arrival date. If not paid within 30 days may be subject to interest at 4% above the prevailing Bank of England rate. We regret that we may have to apply a surcharge of 2% to cover processing costs if the balance is settled with a charge or credit card.
