Mothers Day Lunch at the Whitehall Hotel

It is Mothers Day on Sunday 3 April 2011 – I am lucky enough to be celebrating with my mum Angela and my (now infamous) Nan Molly.

The Whitehall Hotel is offering Sunday Lunch on Mothers Day.

The price is £12.50 per adult (£7 for children age 4-14) for a 3 course lunch with coffee.

Here is the menu:

Freshly made Tomato & Basil Soup

Fresh Fruit Platter with raspberry coulis

Roast Leg of Lamb with mint sauce, redcurrant jelly and traditional gravy

Grilled Fillet of Plaice with lemon butter

Chicken Veronique (a poached chicken breast with a sauce of white wine, tarragon and grapes)

Chestnut and Vegetable Bake with vegetarian gravy (v)

All served with a selection of fresh vegetables, honey roasted parsnips and new potatoes

Chocolate and Pear Tart with a chocolate sauce

Fresh Fruit Salad in a brandy snap basket with Dorset clotted cream

A choice of ice creams
